Southwest Winter: Accordion Book Making with Watercolor

With Charlene Lutz

Saturday February 14th & 21st / 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Course Description:

This two-week, hands-on workshop explores the magic of accordion (concertina) bookmaking combined with watercolor. Students will create a continuous visual narrative inspired by the quiet beauty of the Southwest in winter—feathers, adobe shadows, seed pods, mesas, sky, and pattern. The class will cover simple book construction, layering watercolor washes, and adding decorative motifs and text to build meaning. No experience is necessary—just curiosity, a spirit of play, and a love of nature. All levels are welcome.

Materials:

**Please bring your favorite watercolor paper (any size — we’ll discuss options and cut to size in class). Other basic tools and materials will be provided.
